The national data opt-out programme

The national data opt-out is a service that allows patients to opt out of their confidential patient information being used for research and planning.

Historically the opt out of patient data was controlled by the Practice, as the Data Controller, however on the 11th October 2018 this responsibility passes to the patient who can choose if data from their health records is shared for research and planning using this link.

If you do not have access to the internet then you can call the NHS Digital Contact Centre on 0300 303 5678; open: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
