Zero Tolerance Policy

Violence and Zero Tolerance Policy

At our Practice, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

We always aim to treat our patients with courtesy and professionalism, and we expect the same in return. All staff, including doctors, nurses, and administrative team members, have the right to work without fear of abuse or violence.

We define aggressive or unacceptable behaviour as including (but not limited to):

  • Personal, abusive or offensive language

  • Shouting, cursing or swearing

  • Threatening behaviour, including aggressive gestures

  • Intimidation or harassment

  • Physical contact or assault

  • Wilful damage to property

In line with the NHS Zero Tolerance Policy, the Practice will take firm action against anyone displaying abusive or violent behaviour.

  • Any incident involving actual or threatened physical violence will be reported to the Police immediately.

  • Patients involved in such incidents will be removed from the Practice list.

  • In cases of repeated verbal aggression or harassment, patients may receive a written warning or be deregistered from the Practice.

Our team is here to help, and we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all.

Thank you for your understanding.
