Zero Tolerance Policy
Our Practice fully supports the NHS Zero Tolerance Policy, which aims to address the growing issue of violence and abuse towards NHS staff. All of our doctors and team members have the right to work in a safe environment, free from the threat of abuse, aggression or violence.
We understand that being unwell or distressed can be difficult, and we will always take this into account when addressing any concerns or complaints. However, we expect all patients, their families and carers to treat our staff with courtesy and respect at all times.
Unacceptable Behaviour
We do not tolerate any form of:
-
Verbal abuse
-
Threatening or aggressive behaviour
-
Physical violence
-
Harassment or intimidation
-
Damage to or theft from Practice property
-
Fraudulent use of medical services or prescriptions
Any such behaviour may lead to immediate removal from the Practice patient list. In serious cases, we may contact the Police.
Our Response to Incidents
-
First incident: The matter will be discussed and recorded.
-
Second incident: A formal written warning will be issued.

In cases involving serious aggression, violence or threat to staff or other patients, removal may be immediate, and the Police may be contacted without warning.
We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for both patients and staff. Thank you for helping us maintain that standard.
